Yoga is a 5,000-year-old mind–body practice founded on ancient Sanskrit texts. There are eight “limbs,” or steps, of yoga to bring the practitioner into harmony. The most featured step in the West is asana, or posture practice. At Forma we not only offer stimulating classes to develop muscle, metabolism, and motivation, we offer a variety of hatha yoga classes to develop inner and outer balance. From gentle yoga to more strenuous styles, our yoga instructors teach daily classes to help you unwind from a busy day, restore your body’s vital energy, and renew your sense of well-being—a perfect complement to your strength and cardio training.
Iyengar Yoga, developed by B.K.S. Iyengar, emphasizes detail, precision, and alignment in the performance of yoga posture and breath control. Strength, mobility, and stability are gained through the postures. B.K.S. Iyengar’s systematic approach helps ensure that students progress gradually by moving from simple poses to the more complex, developing mind, body, and spirit step by step.
A physical hatha class that focuses on pranayama (breathwork), asana (postures), alignment, and meditation in a flow-inspired class. Personal attention from the instructor is a prime concern. Working to prevent injury, or lessen the impact of one, is a constant. The combination of breath, movement, and alignment builds heat in the body, releasing stress, tension, and toxicity.
This is a heated athletic yoga class that takes your yoga practice to the next level. Come to sweat and detoxify your body while you cultivate a deeper mind body connection.
This class fuses elements of Iyengar Yoga and Pilates mat exercises to create a flowing sequence of movements to enhance core strength, flexibility, balance, total-body strength, and breath awareness for mind–body connection.
YOGA 4 BALANCE
Yoga 4 Balance is influenced by the hatha yoga style Viniyoga, based on the principle of vinyasa karma, a step-by-step approach to the teaching of asana. This style is perfect for addressing balance and low-back issues. It uses straps and blocks to assist in spinal alignment. In this class, students increase outer balance through posture flow and longer (yin style) holding without increasing agitation in the mind. Inner balance comes from mindfully connecting the postures to the breath, and the breath to a slower, more spacious inner awareness. Perfect for beginning or advanced students seeking to relax the mind, as well as the body.
This class is a faster pace of Mindful Flow that requires both physical strength and coordination. The poses run together in a dance-like rhythmic flow with breath and the dynamic continuous movements give you mobility and flexibility. Vinyasa can be defined as the linking of body movement with breath, a specific sequence of breath-synchronized movements used to transition between sustained posture, and setting intention for personal yoga practice and taking the necessary steps toward that goal.

My passion for wellness began in college, studying exercise science. As a competitive gymnast from age eight throughout college, much of my time was spent rehabbing injuries. This started me on my life path of understanding human physiology and finding different modalities to heal and keep the...
